CUT-PRICE personal pensions are on offer in the run-up to the new low-cost, flexible stakeholder pension schemes that will be available from April next year.
Independent financial adviser Chartwell Investment Management has teamed up with Friends Provident to offer a personal pension with a 0.65 pc annual charge. The only other charge is a one-off [pounds sterling]99 for a regular payment plan or [pounds sterling]60 for a lump-sum investment.
* LEGAL & General has a new internet-based stakeholder-friendly group personal pension scheme with the Computer Services and Software Association, which also has a 0.65 pc annual charge, open to the estimated 250,000 staff working for CSSA members. There is no up-front fee.
* COVENTRY Building Society has raised the rate on its Call Save 11 account by 0.3 pc to 6.05 pc before tax, following last week's 0.25 pc rise in the Bank of England base rate.
